Read or listen
Every book on the list has an English audiobook. Listening on a commute or a walk counts. Many people find it helps to listen and follow along in the text.
The 10-10-6 Challenge: 10 minutes a day, 10 books in 6 months
“The treasures that lay buried for thousands of years; today I give them away if I find anyone who seeks them.”The Promised Messiah (as), Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya, Part V
October 15, 2026 to April 15, 2027. Read in English or in the Urdu original, or listen to the audiobooks.
The Holy Prophet (sa) foretold the coming of the Promised Messiah (as) in the latter days, who would distribute true wealth through his writings and teachings. The Promised Messiah (as) wrote more than eighty books in Urdu, Arabic and Persian to show the living truth of Islam and the way to a living relationship with God.
The Promised Messiah (as) urged every member of his Jama’at to read his books at least three times. Few of us have met that standard. Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba) has observed that Ahmadi youth study very hard to advance in secular education, but often do not make the same effort for religious knowledge. The same is true of many of us at every age: we give time and effort to work, studies and health, and far less to these books.
Like Salat, reading them takes effort, attention and regular practice, and there is no shortcut. Allah promises in the Holy Qur’an: “And as for those who strive in Our path, We will surely guide them in Our ways” (29:70). Once we begin the work of opening these books, they open to us.
Everything needed to start is already free online: English translations, the Urdu originals, and audiobooks in both languages. The challenge below is a simple way to begin.
10 minutes a day, 10 books in 6 months. Read ten books of the Promised Messiah (as) between October 15, 2026 and April 15, 2027. All ten English books together come to 626 pages, or about 3½ pages a day.
Every book on the list has an English audiobook. Listening on a commute or a walk counts. Many people find it helps to listen and follow along in the text.
Read in whichever language you are most comfortable with. If you can read Urdu, the originals carry the Promised Messiah’s (as) own words, and the Urdu audiobooks help with both.
A small daily habit finishes the whole list in six months. Start with the shorter books if you like; the order is up to you. Reading together as a family helps everyone keep going.
Each book links to the English translation and the original, to read online or download, and to its audiobook in each language.
These are ten suggested books. You are welcome to replace any of them with another book of the Promised Messiah (as) of your own choice. What matters is that you read ten.
Page counts are for the English editions. Hallmarks of Saints was originally written in Arabic, so its second link opens the Arabic original, and there is no Urdu audiobook for it.
The Holy Qur’an, Al-Baqarah 2:149
